CFL Hosts COVID-19 Vaccination Site

New: Three More Dates Added: Members of UFCW Local 1546 are welcome to register for a vaccination appointment on either Thursday, April 15 or Friday, April 16 (8:00 AM - 2:00 PM) at Operating Engineers Local 399 Hall in Chicago; or Sunday, April 18 (9:00 AM - 3:00 PM) at Cement Masons 502 Hall in Bellwood. Slots are available on a first come, first served basis. Once the appointments allotted are full, the access code will be invalid. This site is for UNION MEMBERS ONLY.  You will need to provide your union/local number to register as well as present proof of union membership when you arrive at your appointment. If you are not a union member, you will not be allowed into the vaccination site. It is recommended that all UFCW 1546 members download our union app (search UFCW 1546) through the Apple Store or Google Play Store to prove your membership at the vaccination site. Johnson & Johnson will be the vaccine distributed at this event. Only one dose of Johnson & Johnson is required for vaccination.

The name on the ticket must match the name of the person coming for the vaccination. NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 will be allowed inside the vaccination site. If you have children, please find other arrangements before coming to the vaccination site.

American Rescue Plan

U.S. President Joe Biden recently signed the COVID relief bill into law. This will provide millions of workers and families with the urgent relief they need as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

What’s in the American Rescue Plan for UFCW Members:

  • Relief Payments: Provides $1,400 in relief payments per person for individuals making less than $75,000 and married couples making less than $150,000. along with additional tax relief for working families with children. 
  • Childcare: Includes $15 billion for the Child Care and Development Block Grant and allows those funds to be used by essential workers. 
  • COVID Testing and Vaccine: Provides funding towards testing, contact tracing, PPE, and vaccine distribution.
  • Health and safety: Provides $100 million for increased workplace protections including money to support working training and enforcement for high-risk work activities through OSHA.
  • Retirement Security: Strengthens the entire pension system by helping pension plans that are in danger of failing.

ATTENTION: UFCW Local 1546 Members who are with the UFCW Local 1546 Health & Welfare Fund (Union Medical Center)

As a UFCW Local 1546 essential worker, you are among the first to be eligible to take the new COVID-19 vaccine, which evidence shows will provide significant protection against the deadly disease. Unlike other vaccines, this COVID vaccine does not use any live virus particles. You will not be exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19.
